Pyramid Contracting Earns Four Honors in SC Biz News Top Projects 2026

Pyramid Contracting is proud to announce that four of our projects have been recognized in the SC Biz News Top Projects 2026 awards, a statewide program that highlights the most impactful and noteworthy construction and development projects across South Carolina.

Presented by SC Biz News, the Top Projects awards celebrate excellence in design, construction, economic impact, and collaboration. Being recognized across multiple sectors underscores Pyramid’s commitment to delivering high-quality projects that strengthen communities and support economic growth throughout the state.

The honored projects span both public and private sectors, showcasing Pyramid’s diverse experience in recreation, automotive, and industrial development.

Cayce, South Carolina

The Cayce Pickleball Complex is a dynamic recreation facility designed to support both community play and competitive events. The project features 16 tournament-rated pickleball courts along with an ancillary building that provides restroom facilities and support for players and visitors.

Developed in partnership with the City of Cayce and the Lexington County Recreation & Aging Commission, the project required careful coordination across multiple scopes, including utilities, court surfacing, fencing, and vertical construction. Despite weather challenges and material lead times, Pyramid maintained a steady construction pace through proactive scheduling and collaboration.

Today, the complex stands as one of the largest dedicated pickleball facilities in the region, creating opportunities for recreation, wellness, and sports tourism while providing a lasting community asset.

Galeana CDR+J Dealership

Mount Pleasant, South Carolina

The Galeana Chrysler Dodge Ram Jeep Dealership is a new 45,400-square-foot flagship facility designed to house showroom, sales, and service operations under one roof.

Early construction faced significant weather delays that pushed the schedule back by more than two months. Through close coordination with subcontractors and project stakeholders, Pyramid adjusted the construction sequence and optimized vertical construction workflows to recover lost time without sacrificing quality or safety.

The finished dealership has since been recognized by the Stellantis Group as a model facility, selected to represent the brand in national marketing materials and future design standards.

Lake Murray Mitsubishi

Irmo, South Carolina

The Lake Murray Mitsubishi dealership is a 12,000-square-foot full-service automotive facility featuring a modern showroom, administrative offices, vehicle display areas, a write-up service lane, and multiple high-capacity service bays.

One of the most complex aspects of the project involved extensive site development, which accounted for nearly one-third of the total construction cost. Rock excavation, stormwater infrastructure, and coordination with multiple utility providers required detailed planning and sequencing throughout construction.

The finished facility now provides expanded automotive services to the Lexington County region while contributing to the continued growth of the surrounding commercial corridor.

Orangeburg County 50K Speculative Building

Western Orangeburg County Industrial Park

The Orangeburg County Speculative Building is a 50,000-square-foot industrial facility developed to attract future manufacturing or distribution tenants to the Western Orangeburg County Industrial Park.

Constructed using tilt-up concrete panels and structural steel, the project required precise coordination between concrete crews, engineers, and steel contractors to maintain an accelerated construction schedule.

Developed in partnership with Orangeburg County and the Orangeburg County Development Commission, the facility was designed to support economic development efforts in the region by providing flexible, market-ready industrial space capable of accommodating a wide range of future tenants.

Building Excellence Across South Carolina

From recreation facilities to industrial development and automotive retail, these four award-winning projects demonstrate Pyramid Contracting’s ability to deliver complex projects that serve both private clients and public communities.

“We are honored to see these projects recognized by SC Biz News,” said Pyramid leadership. “Each one represents strong partnerships, dedicated teams, and a shared commitment to building spaces that make a lasting impact.”

As Pyramid continues to grow across South Carolina, recognition like the SC Biz News Top Projects award reinforces the company’s mission of Building Strong. Building Together. Building Excellence.
