Pyramid Contracting Honored with Two SC Biz News 2025 Top Projects Awards
Columbia, SC – Pyramid Contracting is proud to announce its recognition with two Top Project Awards in the inaugural SC Biz News 2025 Top Projects recognition program. The firm was honored for its work on the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) headquarters and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) office building.
This recognition program celebrates the best building and construction projects in South Carolina that were completed between January and December 2024, honoring the innovative facilities that are reshaping the state’s landscape.
Project Highlights: Building Excellence for South Carolina
The two award-winning projects exemplify Pyramid Contracting’s commitment to delivering complex, high-quality public-sector construction. Both state-of-the-art facilities were developed for Stern Development, LLC, in West Columbia, SC, and represent significant new additions to the Midlands’ commercial landscape.
South Carolina Department of Education Headquarters
The new SCDE headquarters is a sprawling 151,000-square-foot, three-story Class A office building located in West Columbia, SC. Pyramid Contracting was responsible for ensuring a comprehensive approach from design inception to completion for the new headquarters, which supports the agency’s mission to serve South Carolina’s educational needs. The project was completed in 2024 and provides a modern and efficient workspace for the SC Department of Education.
South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Office Building
The SCDNR office building is a 67,000-square-foot, three-story facility in West Columbia, SC. Pyramid Contracting spearheaded the construction, which involved extensive planning and design, including structural design, fire protection engineering, and MEP systems design. The team implemented creative solutions to manage weather delays and ensured the project remained on track, resulting in a modern and functional workspace completed in November 2024.
